2010 Match Reports

Sat 13th November 2010 at Beaconside Sports centre

Stafford LHC 4ths  2         v Bloxwich 4ths  1

Scorers Bev Leng, Jane Haden Lane.

Stafford Ladies Hockey Club 4th team moved up to 5th position in the Staffordshire 4th Division table after a close encounter with Bloxwich 4th XI on Saturday. Stafford had to come from behind when Bloxwich scored from a pass across the face of the goal for a knock in on the far post. Before the goal Stafford had created chances to score for themselves so they knew that in time they could get the equaliser. A fine pass from captain, Jane Haden -Lane found left forward Bev Leng who fired the ball into goal.

In the second half Stafford played more down the flanks with Keeley Hatherway and Emma Burrows excelling. Amy Harwood and Yvonne Brazier giving good support and stopping several breakaway situations. A further goal ,this time by Jane Haden-Lane from a pass by Bev Leng settled the team and Stafford were able to hold on to win the match.
